Time. State. Rock. Exhibition

Dear friends!
I invite you to participate in the first All-Ukrainian exhibition of metal in the conceptual art under the name Time. State. Rock.
The exhibition is scheduled for May – August 2012 and is to take place in the most prestigious exposition hall in Ukraine – the M-17 Centre of Modern Art in Kiev. Important people of the country and representatives of the leading periodicals and TV channels will be invited to the opening ceremony. The exhibition will be visited by sponsors, collectors, owners of galleries and museums.
The Time. State. Rock. Exhibition will meet all the world level requirements. That’s why all the works will be chosen by the jury at the sketch stage. The range of works can include
floor-standing sculptures, miniatures, wall and hanging pictures.
It is the first exhibition of such scale in Ukraine and it aims to show the creative potential of modern blacksmiths and metal designers.

Rennfeuersymposium 2011 in Lille

It looks like we are going to have wonderful symposium. We have been offered additional help by the people in charge of the museum, so things are turning out very nicely. We are really looking forward to having a fruitful symposium, where everyone will learn a lot, and have lots of fun.
The Open Air Museum of Villeneuve D'Ascq is a place where old flammish houses have been relocated. Some houses are used by craftsmen, among which there are blacksmiths. The site is managed by Espace Naturel Lille MГ©tropole.
We have set up here a group of people interested in iron making. Some are former metallurgists, some are archeologists, some are bloomery smelters. We are all trying to write up the history of iron making and trading in the area by crossing the results of our experiments and studies. Some will be present at the symposium.
As we have written before, we want to focus this edition on refining blooms to produce forgeable iron and steel. It is a great opportunity for sharing and experimenting.

September 18, Saturday

 

10.00 a.m.                          Official opening of the Forged Figures Park – 2010 Festival.

Opening of The Craftsmen Alley.

10.30 a.m. – 05.00 p.m.     Events:

- joint work on The Friendship Bridge;

- Master Classes of the blacksmiths;

- The Blacksmiths Cuisine cooking contest;

- The Blacksmiths Clothes contest;

- horse shoeing;

- nails forging;

- power show of Dmitriy Khaladzhy.

06.00 p.m.                          Conference.

07.00 p.m.                          Official buffet. Communication. Recreation.

 

 

September 19, Sunday

 

10.00 a.m. – 04.00 p.m.     Continuation of the work.

                        Master Classes of blacksmiths.

03.00 p.m.                          Mounting of the works on The Friendship Bridge composition. Collective photo.

04.00 p.m.                          Closing of the festival.

05.00 p.m.                          Official buffet. Communication. Recreation.

 

September 20, Monday

 

09.00 a.m. – 12.00 p.m.     Excursion to Donetsk metallurgical plant.

12.00 p.m. – 05.00 p.m.     Excursion to the Salt Mines (Soledar town), underground forging, producing of presents for Shubin.
